The Beach House was built in 1918 by Captain Walter O’Neal, a well known hunting and fishing guide. The home has been providing hospitality to island visitors over the past 90 years. The beach style cottage, with hip line roofs, minor gingerbread details and covered porch is typical of Ocracoke homes during that time period. The house is furnished with an eclectic mix of antiques. The house has a comfortable living room for guests to enjoy. The front porch with inviting hammock swing and rocking chairs overlook a beautiful flower garden to help adjust of "live on Ocracoke". We want you to enjoy. Over the years the house has been modernized with the addition of central heat, air conditioning, bathrooms, and a modern kitchen. The Oak floors and cypress beaded ceiling boards remain, providing charm and character.
